Sprimont, Belgium – 9 Sep. 1944

Often mistaken for 60th Infantry Regiment men, these soldiers are members of “Paddy’s Gang” entering in Belgium. The exact location is in Sprimont, on September 9th, and this shot became very well-known and a symbol of the liberation of Belgium. Then, if you look closely, you can see the organization of a infantry rifle squad, covered by a Sherman Medium Tank. Check the helmets as well : AAAO painted on the sides !
